Meet Dan Houchard

Dan Houchard is an innovative landscape designer and Founder of Houchard Design Group, known for creating outdoor environments that shape how people live and feel. Guided by a belief that landscape profoundly influences daily experience, his work balances beauty, function, and emotional resonance.

His passion began outdoors in childhood, in family gardens, constructing imagined landscapes from strawberry baskets and toy roadways; an early study in the relationship between planting, structure, and space. He spent two years in the Landscape Architecture program at Texas A&M University before earning a degree in Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Design.

After beginning his career in Washington, DC, Houchard relocated to Dallas, where he co-founded one of the state’s leading design firms, recognized for layered, enduring landscapes. In 2023, he established Houchard Design Group. His work continues to be defined by thoughtful composition, measured restraint, and a seamless connection between architecture and landscape.
